Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has declared support for Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, amid the growing political tension ahead of the August 15 governorship election, accusing the Federal Government of selectively deploying federal institutions against states controlled by opposition parties.

Makinde alleged that agencies of the Federal Government were being used to intimidate and weaken opposition administrations, warning that such actions pose a serious threat to Nigeria’s democracy. He stressed that democratic institutions must remain impartial and serve all Nigerians without regard to political affiliation.

The Oyo governor urged the Federal Government to ensure fairness and uphold the rule of law, insisting that every state deserves equal treatment regardless of the political party in power. He warned against any action capable of undermining the country’s democratic process and called on all stakeholders to protect the integrity of Nigeria’s democracy.
