Arteta Agrees New Arsenal Contract, Set to Stay Beyond 10 Years

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has reached an agreement with the club on a new contract that will extend his stay beyond the end of the current season.

The Spanish coach had been in negotiations with Arsenal for several months after his existing deal, which was due to expire at the end of the campaign. The final agreement is expected to keep Arteta at the Emirates beyond 10 years since he was appointed manager in December 2019, although the exact length of the new contract has not been disclosed.

The new deal is also expected to include an increase on Arteta’s reported annual salary of £10 million, with as much as £5 million more potentially available through performance-related bonuses.

Arteta had previously reassured Arsenal supporters about his future at the club, saying they did not need to “worry” about the contract situation. He has repeatedly expressed his happiness at working with the club and his desire to continue the project in north London.

Since taking charge in December 2019, Arteta has overseen Arsenal’s return to the top end of English football and has guided the club through significant changes in its playing squad and structure.

The contract agreement comes as Arsenal continue preparations for another Premier League campaign, with Arteta set to remain in charge as the club pursues further domestic and European success.
