Nigeria’s Federal Government has agreed to become a partner nation of the BRICS. Nigeria’s official approval to take part as a partner nation demonstrates its dedication to promoting global cooperation, taking advantage of business possibilities, and developing strategic alliances that support Nigeria’s development goals.

As a group of significant emerging economies, BRICS offers Nigeria a special opportunity to expand trade, investment, and socioeconomic collaboration with its members.

Nigeria is well-positioned to use this platform to further common objectives in trade and investment, energy security, infrastructure development, technology, and climate change, according to a statement released over the weekend by the Acting Spokesperson, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Abuja.

In keeping with our philosophy of strategic autonomy, this collaboration also supports our country’s goals for inclusive growth, regional integration, and active involvement in establishing a just and equitable global economic order.

Nigeria is eager to work with the BRICS countries in a positive way to promote innovation and people-to-people interactions that align with our strategic aims and national interests.
