Speaking on Monday during a meeting with APC members from the 18 local government areas at the Government House in Benin City, Okpebholo reaffirmed his administration’s resolve to strengthen the ruling party while ensuring that development and opportunities reach communities across the state. According to a statement issued by his media aide, Patrick Ebojele, the governor expressed gratitude to party faithful for their unwavering support and stressed that governance would not be concentrated at the top alone.
“I want to say good morning to everybody and tell you that I love you all. I want to let you know that the party is our party. We don’t have any other party than APC,” Okpebholo said. He added, “Appointing 4,000 SAs is not an issue at all because we all work for this victory. The victory does not belong to Okpebholo alone and I thank party members for their support. So we are taking the governance to the grassroots, so that whatever is from the top, will also go down to the bottom.”
The governor maintained that his administration remains focused on inclusive governance and grassroots development, emphasizing that the APC government in Edo State will continue to carry party members and residents along as it implements its programmes and policies across the state.
