Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), Wole Olanipekun, and Chairman of the Presidential Fiscal Policy and Tax Reforms Committee, Taiwo Oyedele, have called on political leaders and governors in the South-West to maximise the administration of President Bola Tinubu to fast-track infrastructure development, industrialisation, and economic growth across the region.

The duo made the appeal on Monday in Akure, the Ondo State capital, during a public lecture held as part of activities marking the 50th anniversary of the state’s creation.
Speaking at the event, Olanipekun stressed that the region currently enjoys a rare political advantage with one of its own occupying the presidency, noting that such an opportunity should not be taken for granted.
He warned that the window of advantage is limited, as Tinubu’s tenure would come to an end after his second term in 2031, urging leaders to use the period strategically to attract federal projects and investments to the South-West.
According to him, deliberate collaboration among governors and stakeholders in the region is necessary to secure lasting economic and developmental gains.
Oyedele also emphasised the importance of sound fiscal policies, tax reforms, and coordinated economic planning to stimulate industrial expansion and sustainable prosperity.
The lecture formed part of events celebrating Ondo State’s golden jubilee and drew political leaders, government officials, and stakeholders from across the region.
