The self-acclaimed Director-General of the disputed Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC), Mathew Adeniyi Adeyemi, has stated that he never met the Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila, in person over matters relating to the controversial agency.

Naija News reports that Adeyemi made the claim during a conversation with social media activist Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), from an undisclosed location.

The interview comes amid an ongoing dispute over the alleged existence of the PFIPC and days after Gbajabiamila’s legal counsel, Kemi Pinheiro (SAN), threatened legal action over allegations made against the Chief of Staff.

During the conversation, VDM sought clarification on whether Adeyemi had ever held a face-to-face meeting with Gbajabiamila concerning the activities of the PFIPC.

Responding, Adeyemi said he had never met the President’s Chief of Staff in person.

Asked whether they had at least spoken directly by telephone, Adeyemi disclosed that he had participated in about three phone conversations, which he claimed were facilitated by his late friend, Dolapo Tanimola.

“Like three times I’ve once spoken to him through my late friend, Dolapo Tanimola,” Adeyemi said.

VDM further questioned whether Adeyemi could be certain that the individual on the calls was indeed Gbajabiamila, noting that the conversations were not conducted through video.

Adeyemi acknowledged that the discussions were voice calls only and not video conversations.

He also confirmed that all interactions relating to the alleged transactions were channelled through his late associate.

F: Adeyemi Says He Cannot Confirm Gbajabiamila’s Role

When VDM suggested that it was possible the Chief of Staff may not have personally participated in the conversations, Adeyemi agreed that such a possibility could not be ruled out.

“Of course! Yes,” he replied when asked whether someone else could have been involved.

Adeyemi maintained that he was not in a position to either implicate or exonerate Gbajabiamila regarding the controversy surrounding the PFIPC.

The latest remarks add another dimension to the ongoing investigation into the disputed agency, which the Presidency has consistently described as fictitious while anti-corruption and security agencies continue to probe the circumstances surrounding its alleged operations.
