President Bola Tinubu has appointed former Ekiti Governor Ayo Fayose as Chairman of the Rural Electrification Agency while approving 26 new appointments across 10 federal agencies.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the appointment of 26 officials into 10 strategic Federal Government agencies and commissions, with former Ekiti State Governor Ayo Fayose emerging as the new Chairman of the Rural Electrification Agency (REA).

 

The appointments, which take immediate effect, are aimed at strengthening leadership across key institutions responsible for power, fiscal management, agriculture, housing, population, education, and national development. The appointments also include new chairmen, chief executives, board members, and commissioners across several federal agencies.

 

Ayo Fayose Appointed Chairman of Rural Electrification Agency

 

One of the most notable appointments is that of Ayo Fayose, the former Governor of Ekiti State, who will now serve as Chairman of the Rural Electrification Agency (REA).

 

The REA board also includes Alhaji Ahmadu Abubakar and Engineer Ilyasu Ibrahim Makinta as Non-Executive Directors. Incumbent Director-General Abba Abubakar Aliyu remains on the board alongside the agency’s three previously appointed Executive Directors.

 

The Rural Electrification Agency is responsible for expanding electricity access to rural and underserved communities across Nigeria.

 

Tinubu Reconstitutes National Salary and Wages Commission

 

President Tinubu also approved a new leadership for the National Salary and Wages Commission.

 

The appointments include:

Major General Junaid Bindawa – Chairman

Olajumoke Okoya-Thomas, former Lagos lawmaker – Secretary

The newly appointed commissioners are:

Dr Ogbole Ene Lilian

Oladele Olatubosun (Oyo State)

Yakubu Umar Barde (Kaduna State)

Other members of the commission include:

Dr Mai Adamu Yau (Borno)

Ginika Florence Tor (Enugu)

Engineer Lawrence Okoh (Edo)

Bello Morenike Iyabode (Kogi)

New Leadership Approved for Revenue, Population and Electricity Agencies

The President also approved several appointments across other strategic agencies.

At the Revenue Mobilisation and Fiscal Commission, Tosin Johnson Adeyanju was appointed Secretary after serving as Executive Secretary of the National Lottery Trust Fund.

For the National Population Commission (NPC), Dr Abuh Mohammed was named Director-General.

In the power sector, Dr Akinola Odeyemi was appointed Managing Director of the Nigerian Bulk Electricity Trading Plc (NBET).

Meanwhile, Dr Anthony Inalegwu Godwin will serve as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Nigeria Atomic Energy Commission.

New Heads for NCAM and Fiscal Responsibility Commission

President Tinubu also approved the appointment of Engineer Julius Oloro as Chief Executive Officer of the National Centre for Agricultural Mechanisation (NCAM) in Kwara State.

Oloro, a former local government chairman, replaces the late Dr A.R. Kamal.

The Fiscal Responsibility Commission (FRC) will now be led by Dr Abdullahi Maikano Saidu as Chairman.

Mass Literacy Commission and FHA Get New Executives

 

For the National Commission for Mass Literacy, Adult and Non-Formal Education, President Tinubu appointed Shuni Muhammad Dahiru as Executive Secretary, replacing Prof. Shu’aibu Shehu Aliyu.

 

The President also named Gisaor Vincent Iorja as Executive Director (Finance) of the Federal Housing Authority (FHA).

 

Iorja is an economist, legal scholar, and currently serves as Secretary of the Benue State Independent Electoral Commission.

 

Tinubu’s Appointments Take Immediate Effect

According to the approval, all 26 appointments take effect immediately.

The latest appointments are expected to strengthen governance and improve service delivery across critical sectors, including electricity, fiscal policy, education, housing, agriculture, population management, and public administration, as the Tinubu administration continues to reshape leadership in key federal institutions.
