The House of Representatives on Thursday passed President Bola Tinubu’s Executive Bill seeking to establish state police across Nigeria.

The proposed constitutional amendment will now be transmitted to the 36 State Houses of Assembly for consideration and approval, in line with the constitutional amendment process. The bill must secure the support of at least two-thirds of the state legislatures before it can be signed into law.
