Some Artistes Use Voodoo to Get Hit Songs, Odumodublvck Claims

Nigerian rapper Tochukwu Ojogwu, popularly known as Odumodublvck, has claimed that some artistes in the Nigerian music industry resort to voodoo, popularly called jazz, to secure hit songs.

The rapper made the allegation during an appearance on the Tea With Tay podcast, where he discussed the challenges of producing commercially successful music.

According to Odumodublvck, achieving a hit song is not an easy task, noting that some artistes spend their entire careers without recording a major hit.

He also praised Nigerian music stars Burna Boy, Wizkid and Davido for their consistency in releasing commercially successful songs over the years.

“Getting a hit song is not easy. Sometimes people even do jazz to get one. That is why you see some artists crashing out when they struggle to get a hit.

“Burna Boy, Wizkid and Davido have been dropping hit songs consistently for years.

“You have to respect that. Some artistes never get a hit song throughout their careers,” he said.

Meanwhile, the rapper has also spoken about a disturbing vision allegedly shared with him by popular cleric Chukwuemeka Ohanaemere, better known as Odumeje.

Odumodublvck disclosed that the cleric contacted him and warned that he had seen a vision in which some people allegedly planned to detain and poison him.

The rapper shared the revelation on his X account while speaking about his Christian faith and what he described as his battle against forces of darkness.

According to him, the warning did not frighten him because of his belief in God’s protection through the blood of Jesus Christ.

He wrote:

“Odumeje called me. He said, ‘I saw in a vision that they wanted to detain you and poison you.’

“My God will never let me die. This is what it means to go against the world of darkness. Unfortunately, I am fortified with the blood of Christ.

“He said, ‘Do not worry, they will not understand.’ Victory is assured. Amen.”

The rapper’s comments have drawn attention to discussions surrounding the pressure to produce hit songs in Nigeria’s competitive music industry, as well as his strong expression of faith and confidence in divine protection.
