Vice President Kashim Shettima has described President Bola Tinubu as a leader who accepts responsibility for the actions of his administration rather than shifting blame to his predecessors.
According to Shettima, President Tinubu believes ultimate responsibility for every decision taken by his government rests with him and has consistently resisted attempts to blame former President Muhammadu Buhari for the country’s current challenges.
The Vice President made the remarks on Wednesday while speaking at the Agric Development and Investment Summit in Abuja, where he commended Tinubu’s leadership style and economic reform agenda.
Shettima said the President becomes displeased whenever people attempt to criticise Buhari as a way of explaining the present administration’s challenges, insisting that Tinubu prefers to take full responsibility for his government’s actions.
“He is not someone who is fond of the blame game. For the past three years, the easiest way you can earn the wrath of President Tinubu is to criticise Muhammadu Buhari. No, the buck stops at his desk, and he is ready to take responsibility for whatever comes out of his actions,” Shettima said.

The Vice President also described Tinubu as a transformational leader willing to make difficult but necessary decisions to reposition Nigeria’s economy.
He said the administration’s reform policies were beginning to produce positive results and expressed confidence that the country’s economic outlook would continue to improve.
According to Shettima, Nigeria remains central to Africa’s economic growth and development, adding that the success of the country’s reforms would have far-reaching implications for the continent.
He called on development partners, investors and other stakeholders to continue supporting the Federal Government’s efforts to drive sustainable economic growth and national development.
Shettima maintained that with sustained collaboration and commitment, the Tinubu administration’s economic reforms would deliver lasting benefits for Nigerians and strengthen the country’s position as a key driver of Africa’s future.
