Renewed Hope Ambassadors, a political support group of President Bola Tinubu, has been directed to distribute rice across the country to support Nigerians observing the Ramadan and Lenten fasts.

This was disclosed in a statement issued on Saturday by the Director-General of the group and Governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodinma.

According to the statement, the intervention is aimed at promoting national unity and supporting citizens during a period of deep spiritual reflection for both Muslims and Christians.

Uzodinma said the initiative reflects the President’s commitment to compassion, charity, and solidarity during important religious observances.

“Ramadan and Lent are seasons that remind us of sacrifice, charity, and care for one another,” he said.

The governor explained that the rice distribution would be carried out through the support group’s nationwide grassroots network to ensure that families across the country benefit.

He added that the Renewed Hope Ambassadors would coordinate the distribution across communities to ensure the assistance reaches both Muslim and Christian households observing the fasting period.

“Through this distribution, the Renewed Hope Ambassadors will ensure that families across Nigeria feel the spirit of togetherness during this sacred period,” Uzodinma stated.

The statement also noted that the initiative follows a similar programme carried out during the Christmas season, when rice was distributed to support Nigerians during the festive period.

According to Uzodinma, the programme highlights the administration’s continued commitment to supporting citizens during major religious and cultural celebrations, while reinforcing the President’s emphasis on inclusivity and national unity.
