President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has returned to Nigeria following his participation, alongside some members of his cabinet, in the 2026 Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week (ADSW 2026).

In a statement issued by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Mr. Bayo Onanuga, it was disclosed that Nigeria signed a Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) with the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on the sidelines of the summit.

According to the statement, the agreement is designed to deepen economic cooperation between both countries, boost bilateral trade and investment, facilitate technology transfer, and expand collaboration across critical sectors such as energy, infrastructure, agriculture, mining, and renewable energy.

The presidential media aide further revealed that President Tinubu announced plans to host a joint Nigeria–UAE INVESTOPIA in Lagos in February.

The initiative is aimed at attracting global investors and strengthening Nigeria’s position as a preferred investment destination.

President Tinubu also used the platform to reaffirm Nigeria’s commitment to climate action, stating that the country intends to mobilise up to $30 billion annually in climate and green industrial financing.

This, he noted, will support Nigeria’s ongoing energy transition reforms and efforts to expand electricity access nationwide.
