Former Sokoto State Governor and Senator representing Sokoto South, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, has received the African Democratic Congress (ADC) vice-presidential candidate, Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, describing the visit as an important step toward strengthening the party ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The meeting, held on Thursday, brought together key figures within the ADC as the party continues consultations aimed at consolidating its structure and positioning itself as a viable political alternative ahead of the next electoral cycle.

Welcoming Amaechi and members of his delegation, Tambuwal congratulated the former Rivers State governor on his emergence as the ADC’s vice-presidential candidate.

He expressed confidence that Amaechi’s extensive experience in governance and public service would play a vital role in advancing the party’s vision of providing credible leadership for Nigeria.

According to Tambuwal, the visit provided an opportunity for both leaders to discuss strategies for strengthening the ADC and building a united, inclusive political platform capable of addressing the country’s economic, social, and governance challenges.

He emphasized the importance of collaboration among party stakeholders, noting that unity would be essential to the ADC’s preparations for the 2027 general elections.

Tambuwal also welcomed the recent judgment of the Federal High Court affirming the legitimacy of the Senator David Mark-led leadership of the ADC.

Describing the ruling as a victory for the rule of law and constitutional democracy, he said the decision had removed lingering legal uncertainties surrounding the party’s leadership and would allow members to focus on expanding the party’s reach across the country.

According to the former Speaker of the House of Representatives, the court’s verdict has created an enabling environment for party members to concentrate on promoting the ADC’s agenda without internal legal distractions.

He maintained that the party remains committed to presenting Nigerians with a credible political alternative founded on justice, inclusion, competence, accountability, and national renewal.

Tambuwal further urged party members to remain united and dedicated to the ADC’s ideals, stressing that collective commitment would strengthen both the party and Nigeria’s democratic process.

He expressed optimism that sustained cooperation among party leaders and supporters would enhance the ADC’s readiness for future elections while advancing the aspirations of Nigerians seeking effective governance.
