Former Osun State Governor and Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola, also declared that the APC’s target of mobilising 1.5 million votes for Tinubu in Osun was achievable.
Oyetola, who was represented by the APC governorship candidate in the August 15, 2026 Osun governorship election, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, popularly known as AMBO, said the party was determined to secure victory for Tinubu and its candidates contesting National and State Assembly seats.
He described the mobilisation target as non-negotiable, adding that the party would intensify its grassroots structures and political engagements to achieve an all-round victory in the 2027 elections.
According to Oyetola, the Tinubu administration has taken bold steps to reposition Nigeria’s economy through reforms aimed at addressing longstanding structural weaknesses, improving revenue generation and building a sustainable economic foundation.
He also argued that increased allocations to state and local governments had expanded the resources available to subnational administrations for infrastructure development and the delivery of essential services.
Oyetola commended the founder and grand patron of the PBAT Door-to-Door Movement, High Chief Government Thomas Oweizide Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo, for establishing the initiative, describing it as a contribution to the President’s re-election project.
He charged the 10,000 canvassers inaugurated in Osun to demonstrate commitment, discipline and unity in mobilising support for Tinubu.
Tompolo, who was represented by High Chief Kestin Pondi Ebimorbowe, said the movement was committed to mobilising Nigerians across the country to vote for the President.
He urged the newly inaugurated canvassers to discharge their responsibilities with honesty, determination and a strong sense of commitment.
The event was attended by several political leaders, including APC State Chairman, Sooko Tajudeen Lawal; Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly, Hon. Wale Egbedun; Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Guwor; and Osun Accord Party Chairman, Pastor Funso Akande.
Other dignitaries included Special Adviser to the President on Niger Delta, High Chief Dennis Bruty, and officials of the PBAT Door-to-Door Movement.
With the APC setting a 1.5 million-vote target for Tinubu in Osun, the mobilisation exercise signals an early push by the party to strengthen its grassroots campaign ahead of the 2027 general elections.
