Former Ogun State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, has reaffirmed his commitment to the All Progressives Congress (APC), dismissing reports suggesting a disagreement between him and the party’s governorship candidate, Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, ahead of the 2027 elections.

Amosun gave the assurance while receiving Adeola during a courtesy visit to his residence in Abeokuta, where the governorship candidate sought his support and blessings ahead of the election.

The former governor described media reports alleging political differences between them as unfounded, insisting that there was no crisis within the Ogun APC.

According to Amosun, his relationship with Adeola remains cordial, and he remains committed to the unity and success of the ruling party in the state.

 Amosun Calls for APC Unity Ahead of 2027

During the meeting, Amosun urged party members to remain united and avoid actions capable of creating divisions within the APC as preparations for the 2027 general election gather momentum.

He stressed the importance of collaboration among party stakeholders, noting that unity would be critical to maintaining the APC’s leadership in Ogun State.

Adeola, popularly known as Yayi, said his visit formed part of consultations with respected political leaders across the state. He explained that he sought Amosun’s guidance, blessings and support as he prepares for the governorship election.

The senator pledged to work closely with party leaders and build on the developmental achievements recorded by previous APC administrations in Ogun State if elected governor.

He also assured party faithful that his administration would prioritise inclusive governance, economic development and improved welfare for residents of the state.

The visit comes amid ongoing political consultations within the APC following Adeola’s emergence as the party’s governorship candidate for the 2027 election. Party leaders have repeatedly called for unity as they position the APC for another electoral victory in Ogun State.
