ABUJA, Nigeria — The Federal Government has released the final list of ranked and approved textbooks for use in primary and secondary schools across Nigeria for the 2026–2028 academic sessions.

The Federal Ministry of Education announced the development in a statement issued on Monday by Boriowo Folasade, Director of Press and Public Relations at the ministry.

According to the ministry, the release followed the completion of the first phase of the national textbook ranking exercise, aimed at providing schools with an approved list of instructional materials for the new academic sessions.

The approved list covers textbooks intended for use in primary and secondary schools nationwide, providing schools, teachers and other stakeholders with guidance on materials that have undergone the ministry’s ranking and approval process.

The ministry’s announcement comes ahead of the 2026–2027 academic year and is expected to assist schools and education stakeholders in selecting textbooks approved for classroom use during the 2026–2028 period.
