As Muslims across Nigeria celebrate Eid-el-Kabir, Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, has called on the people to reflect on the essence of the festival and renew their commitment to faith and community development.

In a goodwill message to mark the occasion, Governor Adeleke commended the resilience and sacrifices of Osun citizens, especially in the face of current challenges.

He described Eid-el-Kabir as a time for spiritual renewal, sacrifice, and deep devotion.

“Eid-el-Kabir reminds us of the unwavering faith and obedience demonstrated by Prophet Ibrahim and his son, Prophet Ismail,” the governor said. “When Allah commanded Prophet Ibrahim to sacrifice his son, he did not hesitate. That act of total submission brought immense reward. The lesson is clear—faith and sacrifice bring lasting blessings.”

Governor Adeleke expressed gratitude to the people of Osun for their continued support and trust in his administration. He reaffirmed his government’s commitment to delivering visible and impactful development across the state.

“As we celebrate, I urge all citizens to continue praying and supporting our administration. With unity and shared purpose, we will build a model of good governance in Osun that will be a reference point across Nigeria and beyond,” he added.

The Governor also joined other Muslim leaders in celebrating Eid, calling for compassion, solidarity, and peaceful coexistence during the sacred period.

The Eid prayer was held at the Ede Eid praying ground in Oke-Yidi, where the Chief Imam of Ede land, Sheikh Moshood Hussein-Akajewole, led the congregation.

The Imam also echoed the call for unity and urged the people of Ede to rally behind Governor Adeleke’s administration for continued progress and stability.
