The Ekiti State Government has dismissed a medical doctor, a consultant surgeon at a state-owned health facility, over the alleged illegal removal of a patient’s kidney without proper authorization or consent. The decision followed an internal investigation which found the surgeon culpable of gross professional misconduct and violation of medical ethics.

According to government sources, the inquiry revealed that the procedure was carried out outside approved medical protocols, raising serious concerns about patient safety and abuse of trust.
