The Federal Government has commenced the distribution of starter packs to 18,510 trained artisans across Nigeria as part of efforts to promote entrepreneurship, create jobs and strengthen the country’s skilled workforce. The initiative is aimed at enabling beneficiaries to establish or expand their businesses after completing various vocational and technical training programmes.

According to the government, the starter packs contain essential tools and equipment tailored to the beneficiaries’ areas of specialization, allowing them to immediately put their acquired skills into productive use. Officials said the programme is designed to reduce unemployment, improve livelihoods and encourage self-reliance among trained artisans while contributing to economic growth.

The Federal Government reaffirmed its commitment to supporting skills acquisition and youth empowerment programmes, noting that investments in vocational training remain critical to addressing unemployment and boosting small-scale enterprises. Beneficiaries were encouraged to make effective use of the equipment provided to build sustainable businesses and create additional employment opportunities within their communities.
