Obasanjo maintained that democratic elections should be decided by voters through a transparent, free and fair process rather than prolonged legal disputes after polls have been concluded.

Obasanjo urged all stakeholders, including political parties, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), security agencies and the judiciary, to play their respective roles in safeguarding the integrity of elections. He noted that credible elections remain essential for strengthening democracy, promoting political stability and sustaining public confidence in Nigeria’s democratic process.
