Mudashiru Obasa, the former speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, has maintained that, in accordance with the constitution, he is still the assembly’s legitimate speaker.

Why Obasa Was Impeached As Lagos Assembly Speaker

During a welcoming event hosted in his honor by supporters from the Agege, Alimosho, and Kosofe local government areas on Saturday in Ikeja GRA, Obasa made this announcement.

According to The Nation, accusations of egregious misconduct and financial mismanagement led to Obasa’s removal from office by his fellow House members.

Obasa responded to his dismissal by claiming that the method was not in accordance with the constitution.

However, he said that if his dismissal is done in conformity with constitutional principles, he will accept it.
