The Nigerian Navy has warned job seekers and prospective applicants to disregard a viral recruitment notice circulating on social media, which claims to announce the 2026 Batch 39 Nigerian Navy recruitment exercise.

The Navy described the circulating notice as fake and unauthorised, urging members of the public to rely only on information released through its official communication channels. The warning comes amid concerns that unsuspecting job seekers could be deceived by individuals seeking to exploit interest in the Nigerian Navy recruitment 2026 exercise.

Director of Information, Nigerian Navy, Navy Captain Abiodun Folorunsho, disclosed this in a statement on Monday, stressing that the circulating recruitment notice was “not an authorized publication” and should not be treated as an official announcement by the Nigerian Navy.

According to Folorunsho, authentic information concerning the Nigerian Navy recruitment, including eligibility requirements, application procedures, recruitment categories and application timelines, will only be communicated through the Navy’s authorised platforms. He identified joinnigeriannavy.navy.mil.ng as the official recruitment website, while navy.mil.ng remains the official website of the Nigerian Navy.

The Navy also issued a strong warning against paying money to individuals, agents or unauthorised platforms in connection with the recruitment exercise. It emphasised that Nigerian Navy recruitment is free of charge and that no third party has been authorised to recruit applicants or collect recruitment fees on its behalf.

Folorunsho advised prospective applicants to exercise caution and avoid sharing personal information or making payments based on recruitment messages obtained from unofficial social media accounts and other unauthorised sources. He assured Nigerians that the Navy would continue to provide accurate information about its recruitment process through its official communication channels.
