Kayode Egbetokun, the Inspector General of Police (IGP), has refuted claims that he conspired with the All Progressives Congress (APC) to kill Governor Ademola Adeleke and destabilize Osun State.
Recall that Egbetokun was attempting to execute a “non-existent” court order to reinstall past local government chairmen in the state, according to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Osun State chapter.
Speaking to reporters in Osogbo, Sunday Bisi, the chairman of the Osun PDP, revealed this.
However, Egbetokun said he was too busy to reply to the PDP’s sloppy remarks in Osun State during the senior officers’ decoration ceremony in Abuja on Thursday.
“I’ve read about the accusations, but I’m not going to respond to such nonsense,” he stated. I support contesting the falsification of facts. We shall not stand idly by as the facts are twisted against us.
However, claims that are obviously illogical are not worthy of our attention. I’m too busy to engage in idle conversation. I won’t reply to such nonsense.
“It is my responsibility to answer the state’s commissioner of police’s request for reinforcement. In order to guarantee that there is law and order in that state and that there is no further breakdown of law and order in the state, we have strengthened the command and have adequate personnel on the ground.
