The state Commissioner of Police, Muhammad Rabiu, disclosed the development on Tuesday during a press conference at the DSS Command Headquarters in Kaduna.

The rescued victims were identified as Jamila Muhammad, Talatu Yakubu, Yunana Bawa, Calista Bishop, Chidinma Onuwere, Eucharia Obi, Godiya Victor and eight-year-old Miracle Alex.

Rabiu said the operations were part of ongoing efforts to track down and dismantle criminal networks responsible for repeated kidnappings in Millennium City and neighbouring communities.

He noted that kidnapping activities in the affected areas had continued to generate concern among residents and other stakeholders.

Kaduna Police to Deploy 30 Patrol Vans, Eight Armoured Personnel Carriers

The police commissioner announced plans to strengthen security operations through the deployment of additional personnel and equipment.

According to him, the planned deployment includes 30 patrol vans and eight armoured personnel carriers to improve security coverage and enhance the response capacity of security agencies.

Rabiu explained that difficult terrain in some parts of Kaduna State had continued to give criminal groups an operational advantage.

However, he said security agencies were working to restrict the movements of the criminals and deny them the freedom to operate.

Rabiu commended the Office of the National Security Adviser for coordinating the operations and acknowledged the contributions of the police, DSS and military.

He also praised the Kaduna State Government, under Governor Uba Sani, for its support and cooperation with security agencies in tackling kidnapping and banditry.

The commissioner described the successful rescue operations as evidence of the commitment of security agencies to recovering abducted persons and dismantling criminal groups across the state.

He urged members of the public to remain vigilant and provide credible information about the identities, activities and movements of suspected kidnappers and other criminals to security agencies.
