Abuja-based lawyer Pelumi Olajengbesi has stepped aside from his role at Law Corridor as he prepares to pursue a political career ahead of Nigeria’s 2027 general elections.
The decision was announced on Wednesday in a statement released by the partners and management of the firm. According to the announcement, Olajengbesi’s departure was prompted by his growing political activities and aspirations for public office.
The firm explained that the move aligns with its internal governance principles, which emphasize strict neutrality regarding political involvement by its leadership and partners.
The development marks a new phase in Olajengbesi’s career as he transitions from legal practice to active participation in the country’s political landscape.

According to the statement, Olajengbesi intends to contest for the Obokun–Oriade Federal Constituency seat in the House of Representatives Nigeria, representing Osun State, in the 2027 general election.
His decision to leave the firm was described as a necessary step to maintain the organization’s policy of political neutrality while allowing him to fully concentrate on his public service ambitions.
The Deputy Managing Partner of the firm, Ganiyu Ajibola Bello, confirmed that the partners collectively supported the decision in line with the firm’s governance framework.
“This decision is in accordance with the Articles of Governance of Law Corridor, which uphold the firm’s long-standing policy of political neutrality,” Bello said in the statement.
Recognition of His Contributions
While announcing the transition, the leadership of Law Corridor acknowledged Olajengbesi’s role in the growth and development of the firm.
Bello noted that the partners remain appreciative of his contributions and professional leadership over the years.
“The partners of the firm express their appreciation to Mr. Olajengbesi for his contributions to the growth and development of Law Corridor and wish him the very best in his public service aspirations,” he added.
Before his exit, Olajengbesi had a long-standing relationship with the firm’s leadership structure. He previously served as Managing Partner, overseeing major aspects of the organization’s legal operations.
After completing his tenure as Managing Partner, he returned to the firm in a senior leadership role as Senior Partner and Group Lead of the Family, Succession, and Wealth Management (FSW) Practice.
Transition from Law to Politics
Olajengbesi’s move highlights a broader trend of professionals transitioning from private careers into public service and political participation in Nigeria.
Political analysts note that individuals with strong legal and governance backgrounds often pursue legislative roles where they can contribute to policy development, lawmaking, and institutional reforms.
As preparations gradually begin for the 2027 general elections, more aspirants are expected to signal their intentions for various political offices across the country.
For Olajengbesi, stepping aside from his role at Law Corridor marks a strategic move to focus fully on his political journey and his ambition to represent the people of Obokun–Oriade Federal Constituency in Nigeria’s national legislature.
