The Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Ladoja, has said his meeting with President Bola Tinubu, alongside other traditional rulers from Oyo State, was to appreciate the Federal Government’s efforts in rehabilitating key federal roads and securing the release of abducted teachers and students in Oriire Local Government Area.

Speaking through a statement issued on Thursday by his Media Aide, Adeola Oloko, the monarch explained that the visit was aimed at commending the Tinubu administration for addressing the poor condition of federal roads linking Ibadan and other parts of Oyo State to neighbouring states. The delegation included the Olugbon of Orile-Igbon, Oba Francis Alao; the Aseyin of Iseyin, Oba Sefiu Oyebola; the Balogun of Ibadanland, Oba Tajudeen Ajibola; the Osi Olubadan, Oba Abiodun Kola-Daisi; the Alajawa of Ajawa, Oba Adeyeye Oyetunji; the Onigbeti of Igbeti, Oba Abioye Basiru Olalekan; and the Aare Ago of Ogbomoso, High Chief S. Otolorin, who represented the Soun of Ogbomoso.

Oba Ladoja also praised the successful rescue of the abducted teachers and students in Oriire, describing the development as commendable. He said that although the traditional rulers had confidence in the ability of Nigeria’s security agencies to secure the victims’ freedom, there were moments of concern over whether they would be recovered safely. According to the statement, the monarch commended President Tinubu, security operatives and other stakeholders for their efforts, noting that the successful rescue brought relief to the people of Oyo State.
