Ooni of Ife Announces Birth of Twin Princes, Says Royal Family “Blessed”
The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, has announced the birth of twin princes with his wife, Olori Mariam Ajibola, describing the development as a significant blessing to the Royal House of Oduduwa.
The monarch made the announcement in a post shared on his official Facebook page on Friday, confirming that both the mother and the newborns are in good health.
He expressed gratitude to God for what he described as another divine blessing to the royal family, noting that the arrival of the twins brought joy to the entire House of Oduduwa.

“To God be all the glory and adoration for His wondrous works and abundant blessings once again,” the statement read. “Warmest congratulations to the entire House of Oduduwa and to Olori Mariam Ajibola on the joyous arrival of twin princes to the royal throne of Oduduwa today.”
The monarch added that both Olori Mariam Ajibola and the children are doing well following the delivery.

The birth of the twin princes adds to the Ooni’s growing royal family and comes several years after his separation from Olori Naomi.
In 2022, the monarch drew public attention after marrying six wives within a short period, including Olori Mariam Anako, Elizabeth Akinmuda, Tobiloba Philips, Ashley Adegoke, Ronke Ademiluyi, and Temitope Adesegun.
The Ooni later explained that his marital decisions were guided by the traditional customs and cultural heritage of Ile-Ife, which he is sworn to uphold as custodian of Yoruba tradition.
During his 48th birthday and coronation anniversary celebrations, the monarch reiterated that his role as king includes preserving longstanding cultural practices associated with the throne.
Entertainment Industry Also Reacts to Loss of Actor
In a related development in the entertainment sector, Nollywood actress Uche Jombo has offered support to the wife of late actor Alexx Ekubo, following his reported passing.
According to her, she joined close friends and colleagues in visiting the late actor’s home, where they spent time with his family and reflected on his life and career.
She described the gathering as emotional, noting that attendees moved between tears and laughter as they shared memories of the actor’s personality, professionalism, and influence within the film industry.
Jombo said the visit was aimed at ensuring that the actor’s wife was not left alone during the grieving process, adding that colleagues were committed to standing by her in a difficult period.
The tribute reflects the close-knit nature of Nigeria’s film industry, where colleagues often rally around families of deceased actors to provide emotional support and preserve their legacy.
