Codenamed “Amotekun,” Isaac Omoyele, the commandant of the Osun State Security Outfit Network, argued yesterday that the state Amotekun is spiritually stable enough to combat any crime in the state. Speaking to reporters in Osogbo yesterday, Omoyele praised state governor Ademola Adeleke for providing the group with sufficient funding in the 2025 budget and promised to fight tooth and nail to reduce crime in the state.

Speaking on Amotekun’s declining condition when he assumed the mantle, the commandant observed that the Amotekun he encountered was in a difficult circumstance.

When he returned as commandant, Omoyele stated that Oyo, Ogun, Ekiti, Lagos, and Ondo States were ahead of Osun State. However, he emphasized that Osun State Amotekun was now in a favorable environment thanks to the state government’s assistance.

He stated that Osun Amotekun is completely protected with their wellbeing and that the rules that were passed are appropriate for the growth of the security group. Omoyele emphasized that they all collaborated to reduce crime in the area when discussing his relationships with the other South-West states of Ekiti, Oyo, Ondo, Ogun, and Lagos.

He claimed that the region’s attempts to lubricate the wheel of appropriate security had been aided by positive relations with other states. He claimed that the state’s current Amotekun force of 320 is insufficient for efficient law enforcement, but he believed that with sufficient government support, things will improve as quickly as possible.
