OSOGBO — Senator Francis Fadahunsi, representing Osun East Senatorial District, has congratulated Governor Ademola Adeleke on his re-election, describing the victory as well-deserved and pledging his support and collaboration with the governor for the development of Osun State.

Fadahunsi, in a personally signed statement obtained in Osogbo on Friday, said Adeleke’s re-election demonstrated the confidence and trust the electorate had placed in his leadership.

The senator urged the governor to build on the achievements recorded during his first term and use his second term to deliver more development projects and programmes across the state.

“Your Excellency, having won the confidence and electoral franchise of the people for a second term, I pray that God Almighty will grant you the wisdom, strength, and grace to surpass your achievements,” Fadahunsi said.

He added: “I also pray that you will consolidate the gains of your first term and deliver even more dividends of democracy to our people, especially my Senatorial District.”

Fadahunsi further assured the governor of his readiness to work with him and other stakeholders in promoting peace, progress and prosperity across Osun State.

“Please accept my assurances of support, collaboration, and partnership as we, you, me, and other stakeholders, work together for the peace, progress, and prosperity of our dear State,” he said.

The congratulatory message comes against the backdrop of controversy surrounding a viral video attributed to the senator during the build-up to the Osun governorship election.

The video circulated on social media was interpreted by some as an instruction to supporters to attack or kill members of the Accord Party. The allegation generated reactions in political circles ahead of the election.

Fadahunsi, however, denied advocating violence against opposition supporters and rejected the interpretation that he had called for the killing of Accord Party members.

The senator’s latest message signals a willingness to work with the re-elected governor despite the political differences and controversies that characterised the election campaign.

With Adeleke now set to begin another term, Fadahunsi said cooperation among elected officials and other stakeholders would be essential to achieving sustainable development and improving the welfare of the people of Osun State.
