Electricity supply to the Nigerian Embassy in Pretoria has been disconnected over unpaid utility bills, the Mayor of Tshwane, Dr. Nasiphi Moya, has confirmed.

Moya disclosed that the City of Tshwane took the action after the embassy allegedly failed to settle outstanding payments owed for municipal services.
According to the mayor, the decision forms part of the city’s broader enforcement measures aimed at recovering debts and ensuring that all property owners, including diplomatic missions, comply with payment obligations.
The amount owed by the embassy was not immediately disclosed.
As of the time of filing this report, Nigerian embassy officials have yet to publicly respond to the development.
