Former presidential candidate Omoyele Sowore has clarified his position on activism and personal conflicts, revealing the category of individuals he would never engage in a fight with. His remarks come amid recent developments involving popular figures BLord and VeryDarkMan, where Sowore confirmed that his involvement has officially come to an end.

Speaking to journalists, Sowore explained that his participation in such matters is guided strictly by his perception of injustice. According to him, he only intervenes when he believes an individual is being oppressed or unfairly treated. Once that condition changes, he withdraws and redirects his attention to other pressing issues.

The activist emphasized that his actions are not driven by personal loyalty or long-term alliances but by principles rooted in justice and fairness. He noted that his role is temporary and purpose-driven, ending the moment the perceived oppression is resolved.

Expanding on his philosophy, Sowore outlined a clear boundary when it comes to personal conflicts. He stated that there is a specific group of people he would never confront—those he has previously supported in their struggle for freedom and rights.

He explained that once he has stood up for someone’s liberty, he considers it a lifelong commitment not to turn against them, regardless of future disagreements. This, he said, is a reflection of his core belief in solidarity among those who have shared a common fight against injustice.

“There are some people I can never fight,” Sowore said, stressing that individuals he has defended in the past fall into this category. “I can’t go back and fight such a person even if the person fights me to tomorrow.”

His comments highlight a consistent theme in his activism—prioritizing collective progress over personal disputes. Sowore reiterated that his mission has always been to empower others to claim their rights and freedoms, even if it comes at a personal cost.

Addressing the situation involving BLord and VeryDarkMan, Sowore confirmed that his involvement concluded following changes in the bail process. While he did not go into extensive detail, he made it clear that the circumstances that initially prompted his intervention had evolved.

“My role ends whenever somebody who I judge to be undergoing oppression no longer suffers oppression,” he stated. This principle, he added, guides his decisions on when to step in and when to step away.

Observers note that Sowore’s approach reflects a broader activism strategy focused on issue-based engagement rather than sustained personal involvement. By moving on once conditions improve, he maintains flexibility to address multiple concerns across the country.

Despite stepping back from the current issue, Sowore reaffirmed his dedication to advocacy and human rights. He expressed a desire to see more individuals take up the mantle of activism, stressing that the fight for justice requires collective effort.

He maintained that his commitment remains unwavering and that his ultimate goal is to inspire others to stand up against oppression in all its forms.

As conversations around activism and accountability continue in Nigeria, Sowore’s remarks offer insight into his guiding principles—justice first, loyalty to shared struggles, and a readiness to move on when the mission is accomplished.
