All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain and former House of Representatives member, Abdulmumin Jibrin, has alleged that coordinated propaganda is being spread in Northern Nigeria against President Bola Tinubu ahead of the 2027 elections.

Jibrin made the remarks during an appearance on Channels Television’s Politics Today, where he dismissed claims that Tinubu is anti-North or unfair to the region.

According to him, some politicians are deliberately pushing negative narratives to damage the President’s image among northern voters.

“There is a heavy propaganda in the Northern part of the country and nobody is going to dispute that fact,” Jibrin said.

The APC chieftain said allegations that Tinubu has neglected the North in appointments and infrastructure projects are misleading.

“Some politicians are spreading the propaganda that the president does not like the North, that the president has not been fair to Northerners in appointment, that the president has not taken projects into the North,” he stated.

Jibrin argued that such claims are politically motivated and intended to weaken support for the President in the region.

“All of these issues that are being raised, when you put them on a scale, you will discover that they are false and lies concocted just to paint the president black,” he added.

“Tinubu Has Always Supported The North”

Defending the President’s political history, Jibrin maintained that Tinubu has consistently shown support and goodwill toward the North throughout his political career.

“The president has demonstrated likeness for the North. All his life he has supported the North and Northerners,” he said.

He also insisted that Tinubu remains one of the most influential political figures in Nigeria despite growing opposition narratives ahead of the 2027 general elections.

“Tinubu continues to remain the most influential politician in Southern Nigeria and by extension the entire Nigeria,” Jibrin stated.

The comments come amid increasing political campaigns, regional debates, and shifting alliances as parties and political figures prepare for the 2027 elections.
