Speaking at the event, Shettima also called on citizens to remain united and supportive of one another during what he described as a difficult national period. He noted that the bond among Nigerians remains stronger than the divisions that may exist, urging collective resilience in the face of security threats.
“I want to assure Nigerians of President Bola Tinubu’s unwavering commitment towards restoring peace and stability in the nation,” Shettima said. “No matter how long the night is, it must give way to the light of dawn. Stormy as the weather may be, it will not rain forever.”
He further reiterated that the Federal Government remains “irrevocably committed” to ending violence and criminality, stressing that restoring security remains a top priority of the administration.
Shettima also encouraged continued prayers for the country, describing spiritual support and national unity as key elements in overcoming current challenges. According to him, sustained cooperation between citizens and government is essential for achieving lasting peace.
As insecurity continues to affect parts of the country, the Federal Government has repeatedly pledged to intensify military and intelligence operations aimed at dismantling criminal networks and securing the safe return of abducted persons. The latest assurance from the Vice President reinforces the administration’s position that efforts are ongoing and will not be abandoned despite persistent challenges.
