A member of the recently constituted Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) caretaker committee in Oyo State, Mr. Olaosebikan, has rejected his appointment, distancing himself from the Wike-led structure of the party in the state.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, Olaosebikan said he was neither consulted nor informed before his name was announced as a member of the caretaker committee, stressing that he could not be part of a process he did not consent to. He described the development as a misrepresentation of his political position and loyalty within the party.

Olaosebikan further stated that his political alignment remains with the recognized leadership of the PDP in Oyo State, adding that any attempt to drag his name into internal party disputes should be disregarded. He urged party leaders at the national level to respect due process and internal democracy in resolving the ongoing crisis.
The rejection adds to the growing tension within the Oyo PDP, as factions loyal to different national figures continue to battle for control of the party’s structure ahead of future elections.
