Wike, speaking during a political engagement, said Basiru must be careful with his utterances, stressing that political support comes with mutual respect. He noted that when President Tinubu returns, he would relay his concerns through the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, urging party leaders to exercise restraint in their comments.

The former Rivers State governor also issued a strong warning against political interference in Rivers State, declaring the state a “no-go area” for actions capable of causing tension. Wike insisted he was prepared to confront anyone who attempts to undermine political stability in the state, adding that those who provoke trouble should be ready to face the consequences.
