2027: Northerners Angry With Tinubu Over Unfulfilled Promises, Says Baba-Ahmed
The National Chairman of the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP), Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, has said northerners are angry with President Bola Tinubu over his alleged failure to fulfil campaign promises and address Nigeria’s pressing challenges.

Baba-Ahmed stated that dissatisfaction with the President’s administration was not limited to the North, insisting that Nigerians across the country shared similar concerns over the government’s performance.

He made the remarks on Tuesday while appearing on Channels Television’s Politics Today, amid growing political discussions about the Tinubu administration’s record ahead of the 2027 general election.
According to the PRP chairman, the North’s dissatisfaction with Tinubu stems not from any perceived failure to listen specifically to the region, but from broader concerns shared by Nigerians over the President’s inability to deliver on his promises.
“It’s nothing to do with being northern at all. There are a lot of elite, there are a lot of Nigerians who are angry with Tinubu because he’s not listening to anybody,” Baba-Ahmed said.
He added, “I can tell you, the North is not angry with Tinubu because he’s not listening to them. The North is angry with Tinubu like other Nigerians are angry with Tinubu because he came here on the promise to fix a lot of the things that are wrong, and he didn’t.”
His comments come as political parties and opposition figures increasingly assess the administration’s performance and the potential implications for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 elections.
The debate over the government’s record is expected to remain a major issue as political stakeholders position themselves ahead of the next presidential election.
