Odunsi Expresses Pride in His Son, Settles Family Dispute

Fatai Odunsi, the father of Nigerian music star Ahmed Ololade, popularly known as Asake, has confirmed that his son has agreed to buy him a house and take care of his daughter. This development comes after Odunsi had publicly accused the singer of abandoning him despite his health struggles.

In an interview with digital creator Aki Abolade, also known as Mrlilgaga, Odunsi revealed that his relationship with Asake has been restored. He also expressed gratitude and showered prayers on his son, saying he is proud of the singer’s success.

Asake’s Father Previously Accused Him of Neglect

Odunsi, who is partially paralyzed after suffering a stroke, had earlier lamented his inability to pay his medical bills. He claimed that despite his son’s growing wealth and fame, he had been left to struggle on his own.

Adding to the controversy, a woman named Adijat, who identified herself as Asake’s babymama, also accused the singer of neglecting her and their alleged daughter, Zeenat.

Following these accusations, fans of Asake took to social media to express mixed reactions. While some criticized the singer for allegedly abandoning his family, others defended him, arguing that personal matters should not be brought to public attention.

Odunsi Confirms Reconciliation and Support from Asake

Providing an update on the situation, Odunsi disclosed that Asake has now taken steps to fulfill his responsibilities. He revealed that his son has instructed his team to find a house for him to buy, and the search had already begun.

“He (Asake) has said they should look for a house that he will buy for me, and they have been looking for it since yesterday (Saturday). He has started doing it,” Odunsi stated in Yoruba during the interview posted on Mrlilgaga’s Instagram page on Sunday.

He further prayed for Asake’s success, expressing his love and pride in his son’s achievements.

“I’m proud of him. He will not be unfortunate, nothing will happen to him, and he will not go down.”

Why Odunsi Was Initially Angry with His Son

Reflecting on the past conflict, Odunsi explained that his frustration stemmed from not seeing his son for a long time. He expressed disappointment that Asake’s mother had not encouraged their son to maintain regular contact with him.

“It was because I had not seen him in a long time. His mother ought to ask him, ‘When was the last time you saw your father?’ That was what infuriated me. But we have settled everything. There is no fight anymore.”

Family Dispute Resolved: “There Is No Issue Again”

According to Odunsi, the misunderstanding between him and Asake has now been completely resolved. The singer has reached out to him and assured him that he will take care of all his needs.

“He has reached out to me, and he has said he will do everything I wanted. We have settled our issues. He has called and spoken with me; there is no issue again.”
