Burna Boy’s Mother Names Her Favourite Member of Singer’s Team

Bose Ogulu, mother and manager of Grammy-winning Nigerian singer Burna Boy, has named MD Emmanuel as her favourite among members of her son’s team, explaining that she has higher expectations of him because of their long-standing relationship.

Ogulu made the revelation during an interview when she was asked to identify her favourite child among the people working with the singer.

She initially noted that a good mother would not openly choose one child over the others, stressing that she loved everyone on the team. However, she eventually singled out MD Emmanuel, whose real name is Emmanuel Abiola-Jacobs.

“A good mom doesn’t say who their favorite is. If I told you, I wouldn’t be a good mother, would I? I can’t be telling on my kids. I love everyone, but you always go with your oldest child. The person you have the highest expectation of. So I will go with MD Emmanuel. They have grown together, worked together, played together,” she said.

According to Ogulu, Emmanuel and Burna Boy have shared years of personal and professional experiences, a bond that has shaped her expectations of him.

Emmanuel serves as the music director and drummer for Burna Boy and his band, The Outsiders, playing a key role in the singer’s musical performances.
