ABUJA, NIGERIA — The Federal Executive Council (FEC), presided over by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has approved road construction and rehabilitation projects as well as highway and trailer park concessions worth about ₦438 billion across several states.
The approvals were given during Wednesday’s FEC meeting at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, with the Minister of State for Works, Bello Goronyo, disclosing the details while briefing State House correspondents after the meeting.

According to Goronyo, the approvals cover eight major projects, including five road construction and rehabilitation projects and three public-private partnership (PPP) concessions for highways and a trailer park.
Five Major Road Projects Approved
The projects approved by the council include:
- Reconstruction of the Ado-Ekiti–Iyin–Aramoko–Itawure–Osun Border Road, Ekiti State — ₦159.83 billion, awarded to CBC Global Civil and Building Construction Nigeria Ltd.
- Variation order for the rehabilitation of the Abeokuta–Iboro–Ilaro Road, Ogun State — ₦54.12 billion.
- Reconstruction of the 15-kilometre Port Harcourt–Eleme Junction–Onne Port Junction section of the East-West Road, Rivers State — ₦74.51 billion, awarded to RCC Nigeria Ltd., with a nine-month completion period.
- Phase II rehabilitation of the Ado-Ekiti–Afe Babalola University Road, forming part of the Ado–Ijan–Iluomobi–Imesi–Ondo border route in Ekiti State — ₦54.52 billion.
- Construction of the Ilara–Iselu Road, Phases II–V, Ogun State — ₦94.24 billion, awarded to JRB Construction Company Ltd., with a 24-month completion period.
Highway, Trailer Park Concessions Approved
The council also approved three projects under public-private partnership arrangements.
The first is the development of the 7.9-kilometre Dikko–Maje section of the Suleja–Minna Road in Niger State, valued at ₦56.75 billion and approved under a 40-year concession to Graciatech Engineering Nigeria Ltd.
FEC also approved the operation and maintenance of the Lagos–Ibadan Expressway, valued at ₦96.43 billion, under a 25-year concession to LIB Concession Group.
The third PPP project is the development of a greenfield trailer park at Aro-Ngwa in Abia State, valued at ₦19.70 billion and approved under a 50-year concession to Greg Jane International Ltd.
The Federal Government said the approvals form part of its broader efforts to improve Nigeria’s road infrastructure, strengthen transportation corridors and attract private-sector investment into major infrastructure projects.
The projects are expected to improve connectivity between communities and economic centres, facilitate movement of goods and people, and support commercial activities across the affected states.
