Speaking in Yoruba, the former Minister of Interior said his faithfulness to his wife was an expression of his devotion to God, adding that he had never been intimate with another woman since they got married.

According to him, the personal commitment formed part of a prayer he offered to God concerning the party’s ambition to win the forthcoming governorship election in Osun State.

“Oh Lord my God, if you are the one I am serving, and I did not add any other thing to it. What I am about to say, only a few men can say it: Because of your fear, I never had any intimacy with another woman since I married my wife,” Aregbesola told the cheering supporters.

The former governor said he relied on his personal conduct before God as the basis for praying that the ADC would emerge victorious in the election.

“I told God that next June, we must do it at the Government House,” he added, expressing confidence that the party would secure victory at the polls.

ADC Intensifies Campaign Ahead of Osun Governorship Election

Aregbesola has been actively campaigning across Osun State since assuming the position of National Secretary of the ADC, urging residents to support the party’s governorship candidate, Dr. Najeem Folasayo Salaam, in the August 15 election.

The former governor, who previously governed Osun State on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), is now leading the ADC’s campaign efforts in the state following his defection from the ruling party.

The forthcoming governorship election is expected to be keenly contested, with Governor Ademola Adeleke of the Accord Party (A) seeking a second term in office.

Other major contenders include Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO) of the APC and Dr. Najeem Folasayo Salaam of the ADC, alongside candidates from other political parties.

Political campaigns have intensified across the state as parties make final efforts to convince voters ahead of Saturday’s governorship poll, which is expected to be closely watched by electoral observers and stakeholders across the country.
