INEC has, however, urged political parties, candidates, and supporters to conduct their campaigns peacefully and responsibly, warning against hate speech, violence, and the misuse of public facilities. The commission also reminded stakeholders to adhere strictly to campaign finance limits and timelines as stipulated by law.
Security agencies have been directed to ensure the safety of lives and property throughout the campaign period, while traditional rulers, community leaders, and civil society groups are expected to support efforts toward a free, fair, and credible election.
The Ekiti governorship election is scheduled to hold on June 20, 2026, with voters expected to choose a successor to the incumbent administration.
