Man Beats His Wife To Death Over Ramadan Food In Bauchi

The tragic murder of a 24-year-old lady who was allegedly beaten to death by her 50-year-old husband following a domestic argument about Ramadan food preparations has prompted the Nigeria Police Force’s Bauchi State command to launch an investigation.
According to CSP Ahmed Wakili, the spokesperson for the Command, this regrettable occurrence happened on March 1, 2025, at around 11:30 p.m. in the Fadamam Mada neighborhood, which is close to Government Girls College in Bauchi.

A dispute over the fruits and materials for their Ramadan fast-breaking dinner allegedly led to the accused, Alhaji Nuru Isah, a trader working at the Bauchi Central Market, assaulting his second wife, Wasila Abdullahi.

According to News, as the altercation grew more heated, Isah allegedly hit Wasila with a cane, causing her to collapse and pass out inside their home.

Medical personnel at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University (ATBU) Teaching Hospital verified her death after she was taken there.

“As proof, police have retrieved the cane used in the assault and taken the suspect into custody.

“The body of the victim has been placed in the mortuary while an autopsy is conducted.

Justice will be served, according to CP Auwal Musa Muhammad, the commissioner of police for Bauchi State.

The statement also said that he took use of the occasion to highlight the risks of domestic abuse and to urge the public to maintain empathy, understanding, and respect in family life.

The police stressed that domestic violence is a crime with severe repercussions and asked locals to report any incidents.
