The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has issued a public warning over the voluntary recall of specific batches of Mivacron Injection 0.2% and Nimbex Injection 2mg/mL in Nigeria.

In a statement, the agency said the recall was initiated as a precautionary measure following concerns raised by the manufacturer, stressing that the affected products may not meet required quality standards. NAFDAC noted that the action is part of efforts to safeguard public health and ensure the safety of pharmaceutical products in circulation.

NAFDAC urged hospitals, pharmacies, healthcare professionals, and distributors to immediately stop the sale and use of the affected batches and to quarantine any remaining stock for proper return or disposal in line with regulatory guidelines.

The agency also advised members of the public who may have received the affected injections to consult healthcare providers and report any adverse reactions through NAFDAC’s pharmacovigilance channels. NAFDAC reaffirmed its commitment to continuous monitoring of medicines in the country to protect public safety.
