According to the source, the killing sparked reprisal attacks, leading to renewed violence in the communities on Wednesday morning.

The incident created widespread fear, with many residents abandoning the area over concerns that the violence could escalate further.

Shops, markets and other business outlets were shut down as traders suspended commercial activities, while commercial drivers, passengers and other road users hurriedly left the area to avoid being caught in the unrest.

The clash also caused significant traffic disruption along the busy Ojoo corridor, with motorists diverting to alternative routes.

Security personnel, including military operatives, were deployed to the affected communities to restore law and order.

Their intervention helped to bring the situation under control, although the Ojoo and Sabo areas remained largely deserted at the time of filing this report.

Confirming the incident, the Public Relations Officer of the Oyo State Police Command, DSP Olayinka Ayanlade, said normalcy had been restored in the affected communities.

He disclosed that security operatives remained on the ground to maintain peace and prevent any further breakdown of law and order.

Ayanlade added that investigations were ongoing to determine both the immediate and remote causes of the clash, as well as identify those responsible for the violence.

He appealed to residents to remain calm, refrain from spreading unverified information, and cooperate with security agencies by providing credible information that could assist ongoing investigations.
