Nigerian businessman Isaac Fayose has pledged ₦5 million to support the families of victims of violence recorded during the 2026 Osun State governorship election. Fayose also called for accountability over the deaths and other incidents reported during the election period.

Speaking via Facebook, Fayose claimed that 28 people were killed in connection with the election and described those who died as “heroes” who supported Governor Ademola Adeleke. He also alleged that several people were detained during the election period and called for an investigation into individuals who allegedly made inflammatory statements capable of inciting violence.

Fayose said he had petitioned the International Criminal Court (ICC) over the alleged violence and deaths, insisting that the victims and their families should not be forgotten. “I am going to donate 5 million for their families. And the state government too. Let’s compensate them. We should be kind to them,” he said.
