President Bola Tinubu has approved a sum of ₦147.887 billion for the completion of the dualization of the Oyo-Ogbomoso road in Oyo State. The approval was granted during the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting held on Monday.

Additionally, the President approved funds for the completion of the Abuja-Kaduna-Zaria-Kano, Section II Kaduna-Zaria road as part of his administration’s commitment to improving Nigeria’s road infrastructure.

Presidency Confirms Urgent Road Completion Plans

In a statement, the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Public Communication, Sunday Dare, emphasized Tinubu’s dedication to easing transportation challenges, especially for haulage trucks transporting goods across the country.

“President Tinubu has approved the completion of the dualization of the Oyo-Ogbomoso Road in Oyo State. The total cost is ₦147,887,810,833.87. Mssrs JRB Construction Co. Ltd will handle the completion of this critical road project that has lagged for years,” Dare stated.

The presidential aide noted that Tinubu is fully aware of the importance of the Ibadan-Ilorin road, particularly the incomplete section, and is committed to reducing travel difficulties for traders, students, and other road users.

12-Month Deadline for Abuja-Kaduna-Zaria-Kano Road

Regarding the Abuja-Kaduna-Zaria-Kano road, Dare disclosed that President Tinubu has directed that Section II Kaduna-Zaria be completed within 12 months to improve transportation along this major route.

“President Tinubu approved the budget to complete the outstanding works on Abuja-Kaduna-Zaria-Kano, Section II Kaduna-Zaria within 12 months. This is an important stretch of road for all time,” Dare affirmed.

The Oyo-Ogbomoso and Kaduna-Zaria road projects are part of the government’s broader efforts to enhance road connectivity, boost trade, and ensure safer travel conditions for Nigerians. With the President’s directive, contractors are expected to expedite work on these key highways in the coming months.
