Those in attendance included Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State, Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State, Governor Hyacinth Alia of Benue State, Governor Mohammed Sheriff of Borno State, Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State, and Governor Biodun Oyebanji of Ekiti State. Others present were the Minister of State for Defence, Bello Matawalle; the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola; former Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello; Senator Kabiru Marafa Aleiro; former APC National Legal Adviser, Muiz Banire; and President Bola Tinubu’s Senior Special Assistant on Political Affairs, Ibrahim Masari.
However, Governor Bassey Otu of Cross River State, Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq of Kwara State, and Governor Namadi Sambo were absent from the meeting.
President Bola Tinubu had on Wednesday, December 24, constituted the committee with a mandate to resolve lingering internal conflicts within the ruling party and to enhance grassroots mobilisation ahead of future political engagements.
The inauguration meeting is seen as a critical step by the APC leadership to consolidate unity within the party and reinforce its organisational strength across the country.
