The resignations were contained in separate letters dated October 19, 2026, and took immediate effect. The officials are Joshua Olusola Afolabi, Rebecca Oladoja Agbejimi, Noah Olusola Adeyanju and Suleiman Abiodun Adegbola.

Afolabi served on the Oyo State Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM), while Agbejimi was a member of the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB). Adeyanju served on the governing council of Michael Adeniyi Koleosho Polytechnic in Saki, while Adegbola was a supervisory councillor in Ogbomoso South Local Government Area.

In their letters, Afolabi, Agbejimi and Adeyanju expressed appreciation to Makinde for the opportunity to serve and contribute to their respective institutions. However, the letters cited in the report did not disclose specific reasons for their resignations.

The latest departures reportedly bring the number of political appointees and other government officials who have resigned from Makinde’s administration in recent weeks to 12. Those previously reported to have left their positions include former Commissioner of Police Fatai Owoseni, who served as Special Adviser on Security; former Chief of Staff Segun Ogunwuyi; Oyo State Advisory Council member Babatunde Oduyoye; and Senior Special Assistant on Diaspora Matters Funmi Arulogun.

Others include Due Process Office Director-General Tara Adefope, College of Agriculture, Igboora governing board chairman Damilare Gideon Amusan, and former lawmaker Peter Oyetunji. The reasons for the latest resignations and whether they are connected remain unclear.
