Police alleged that the suspects were mobilised by Nurudeen Alowonle and Adeyemi Ojo, alias Sibi, who remain at large. The command said efforts were ongoing to arrest the fleeing suspects.

Zungura also announced the arrest of six suspects allegedly linked to armed robbery operations across Osun, Oyo and Lagos states. The investigation reportedly began after a suspected robbery along the Ile-Ife–Ibadan Expressway on September 24, with subsequent arrests made in Osun and Oyo. Police said five mobile phones, including iPhone 13 and iPhone 11 devices, were recovered, while some suspects allegedly confessed to participating in robbery operations.

Two other individuals were identified as suspected receivers of stolen goods. In a separate case, police arrested 32-year-old Adeosun Gbenga in Ifo, Ogun State, over an alleged burglary at a Jumia pickup station, recovering mobile phones, a tablet, headsets, watches and chargers.

The command further confirmed the arrest of Oniyefa Olayemi in connection with the killing of four people during a violent clash between rival groups at Alapa Village, along Toro Road, Ile-Ife, between October 4 and 5. According to the police, the violence was allegedly linked to a dispute over control of a cocoa farm.

The deceased were identified as Toyin Olagbaju, Emmanuel Agunbiade, also known as Abore, Akeem, and Ademola, alias Small. Items recovered at the scene reportedly included two Dane guns, ammunition shells, cartridges, a small axe and locally made charms. Zungura warned against violence and the illegal use of firearms, urging residents to provide credible information to security agencies. He said suspects would be charged to court after investigations are concluded.
