The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has commenced the uploading of results from the ongoing Osun State governorship election to its electronic results viewing portal, IReV, allowing members of the public, election observers and other stakeholders to monitor results as they are transmitted.

A check of the portal at 5:48 pm on Saturday showed that 1,657 results had been uploaded, representing approximately 44 per cent of the 3,763 polling units across the state. The uploads are taking place as election officials transmit result sheets from polling locations while collation continues at the ward and local government levels. The portal’s automated counter is expected to update as additional results are received and processed.

The development provides voters and election observers with access to election results as they emerge across Osun’s 30 local government areas. However, the figures currently available remain partial and should not be interpreted as the final election result, as collation is still ongoing. The leading contenders include incumbent Governor Ademola Adeleke of the Accord Party, Bola Oyebamiji of the APC, Najeem Salaam of the ADC, and candidates of other participating political parties.
